On Aug 27th 2023,
After a successful 2022-23 science program at Sinnott, SiE (Science is Elementary) is bringing back more fun and learning for Sinnott kids, parents and volunteers. It was only possible because of all of you - parents and volunteers. This shows how we come together as a community. Kudos to all of us!
Please join your beloved Sinnott PTA and SiE (Science is Elementary) in the 2nd year of this exciting hands-on practical science program for kids of Grade (TK-3). SiE, a non-profit organization is providing inspiring, innovative, high-quality science experiences to the elementary school children who need them most.
SiE relies on parent volunteers to assist once a month in the classroom so that our kids get the full benefit of these hands-on activities. So please participate as a volunteer and help out. Fill out the form below to get started!
<YEARLY MANDATORY TRAINING, Sept 5, Tuesday, 6-7:30pm>:
Based on your votes, we have finalized Sept 5, Tuesday, 6-7:30pm for yearly mandatory training for SiE volunteers (new + existing) at Sinnott Elementary School (venue info will be communicated soon)
Even though we strongly recommend in-person training, we will also accommodate the online meeting in-parallel at the same time. Come, meet the whole team, ask questions and get the refreshed tips and tricks from SiE staff!

What is the SiE Yearlong Program?
The Yearlong Program is an inquiry-based, experiential program that integrates science and engineering with
literacy.
Who created this program?
All SiE programming is created by scientists and science educators. Some even have PhDs in science.
Who teaches this program?

with three to four volunteers per class to ensure that all students’ voices are heard and all experiences are
honored, in small group interactions.
How often do you visit classrooms?
Each classroom is visited by the same team of dedicated educators and volunteers monthly (September to May)
to develop strong mentoring relationships and deepen students’ fascination with science. Our educators and are
passionate and enthusiastic about science and that enthusiasm is infectious!
More about the Yearlong Program:
Do we need to recruit volunteers?
